Greetings! Music for Mission is the home of Scott Lamlein’s pipe organ and piano music, where concerts and recorded music bring a message of joy and peace, while financially supporting various missions and charities.
Q&A with Scott:
Why are you doing this? Though I have a lot of experience sharing music through concerts and recordings, I have struggled with finding a way to take that gift to a new level of sharing. I would like my audience to take away the joy of experiencing great music for these amazing keyboard instruments, and contribute money to missions that can make a difference in the lives of others.
Why is it important to you? During the earlier part of my career, it felt as though we were pasting photos of me everywhere – that the music was serving me, instead of the opposite. Adding a mission goal to my concerts allows the music and others to be served by my work.
What do you hope to accomplish? I hope to help raise a lot of money for various charities that are relevant to the venues in which I play – both local and international in scope. At the same time, I hope that my music brings excitement and solace, and wins over new fans of the pipe organ and piano.
How can music make a difference in people’s lives and in the world? The evidence is all around us – from lives changed in an African slum because an orchestra is founded, right down to people’s very mood changing from the sound of a particular song. Music, on it’s own, has the power to transform the world. I hope to do my best to help transform as many as I can.
